u can see full coverage of all the transport used by man since ancient times..on a single road,same time..
starting from cows,donkeys,buffalo,horses..elephants..rickshaw..manpower pulled wheely..bycycle..bikes besides the usual transport…
i belive human traffic jams are also not uncommon here….
come to lagos naija and c traffic jam. wen u are on the road for 8 hours on a 20 minute journey

i believe you cause i’m living in Tehran and i’ve been in so many traffic jams and got caught for hours and got stuck it’s so disturbing and annoying situation when you are got caught but when you are living in a country such Iran without any traffic laws with people who are so exhausted of work and not making sufficient money you have to tolerate
good for you that are living in civilized countries without traffic jams or with low traffic and rush hours

The 1st pic is from Malaysia(in Kuala Lumpur, if i’m no mistaken). Here we got traffic jams every day ! wanna see 2 lane road with 4 or 5 cars side by side.?? got it here also in Kuala Lumpur… !!
I live in Iran. I’ve been in such trafic jams for a milion times. You must search youtube for “traffic jam in tehran” “ترافیک تهران” and see how the situation turns out to create such disasters!
I was almost stuck in a traffic jam like this one in Italy last week, but I turned around just in time and took a detour. On our drive past no less than 15 miles of cars in traffic, motorbikes were passing out the cars, driving on MY SIDE of the road, with no problem that they might collide with me head on. At one point, I nearly started crying because a girl on a bike was overtaking a scooter which was overtaking a car, all on a blind turn!! I will NEVER drive in Italy again!

OK, you got my blood pressure up a few notches, just from looking at the photos.
Venice, Italy was a no-brainer. But, it would go a real long way in improving the entire presentation (immensely, I might add) if you could include the names of the locations (city, country, street/highway names, time of year, possibly the Lat./Long. GPS coordinates) where the photos were taken. Otherwise, it’s kinda like: “Yeah, so what?/Been there.Done that.”
City dwellers don’t have it easy, that’s for sure. I speak from years of experience, having survived living in them for more years than I should have.
I think it might be interesting to have people send in traffic jam photos from all over the world. Then, have a ‘contest’ to determine the “Top Ten Worst, surface navigable cities on Earth”… (Including, how much time to travel how much distance… i.e., 3hrs to go 7Km…) I’m just sayin’…
The pic ‘traffic jam 41′ was taken in Old city, Hyderabad. Hyderabad has the most unruly and chaotic traffic situations. The traffic jams are horrible.
It would be great to know what cities/countries these pictures are from. In my hometown of Caracas Venezuela we also have some pretty spectacular traffic jams.
They are humongous!!!! huge traffic jams! looks good in the pics but when your actually involved in one of these.. then you have had it!
These are great pics, and I think to some extent it’s all relative. I’ve been in some big jams around Washington, DC and New York City. I’ve also been stopped by a herd of buffalo in South Dakota. And in the town where I grew up in Iowa, with only one stoplight, it could be maddening if you had to wait for 4 or 5 cars before making a left turn.
